Public relations are an important aspect of an IPO. Once a company has decided to be listed on NYSE Euronext’s Regulated Market, it will need to hire a financial communications adviser, usually referred to as the financial PR agency. This agency is primarily responsible for promoting the company and its prospects to the investment community.
The PR agency will work closely with the company’s other advisors, i.e. investment bank(s), lawyer(s) and auditor(s), to ensure there is a clear and consistent communications strategy in all messages delivered to investors, analysts, employees, customers, journalists and other key stakeholders. This will promote brand awareness of the company among a variety of financial audiences, including business media, sell-side analysts, institutional investors and brokers – which in turn helps foster investor appetite, demand for shares and favorable media attention.
